month we get auto sales figures and the likes of toyota was up 42%, honda up 31%. nissan lagged a little bit, but its trucks and suvs, the sales up 12%. trucks and suvs pretty popular in the u.s. interesting point also for japanese auto makers, the u.s. counterpart sales figures were largely unchanged for the same period, so quite a boost there for japanese auto makers. we'll watch all the price action for those auto makers as well as other sectors. for now the nikkei and the topix just marginally in the negative. back to you. >> thanks so much, ramin at the tokyo stock exchange. >>> that is all for now. i will leave you with the market figures. >>> hong kong police say that human error may have caused a collision of two boats that killed 38 people. a ship carrying more than 120 passengers collided with a ferry off hong kong's lamma island on monday. the passengers were on their way to see fireworks on china's national day. authorities confirmed 38 deaths, more than 90 taken to the hospital. police say seven crew members were arrested the following day. they're questioning the ship's cap

appearing in court to answer charges of selling drugs to an undercover officer. robert honda attended the court appearance and learned authorities are not yet ready to let him out. >> 42-year-old eric dean louis appeared subdued. the principal faces felony drug charges including possession, and sale. he was arrested at this caltrain station in san francisco thursday afternoon. investigators say he had arranged to meet what turned out to be an undercover agent contacted through a dating website. a search of his apartment turned up a quarter ounce of meth and the other drugs. then agents came to the school and seized his computer. >> it's very difficult, it's very shocking, very sad sometime for the school. >> reporter: parents were shocked. he was principal here for seven years, seemed popular and set up anti drug programs, most were told by a letter from the school. >> really disappoint . >> reporter: there was no indication of children being involved and he has no prior recordn. court the prosecutor argued he should not be released because he lives outside the county and investiga

you anymore. introducing the all-new, smart-sensing... honda accord. it starts with you. >>> so twitter's a great way to stay current. one of the more entertaining twitter feeds that i follow is you'reanonnews. it's an account operated by an anonymous activist group. what makes their feed so interesting, you never know what you're going to get, particularly when you click through on one of their links. today they posted a link to this picture. a computer generated mockup of a micro-air vehicle in the shape of a mosquito. just take a look at that. it's a pretty beautiful thing. according to descriptions we found online, this particular device would allow the user to draw blood, take dna samples or insert devices under the skin of a target. devices. gps devices. typically, this didn't exist yet but a lot of people think the u.s. government is currently developing these little drones. but how close are we to something like this? is it really just science fiction or is there more to it? is it the government we have to worry about? because you know what, after i saw this picture, we

and they've moved forward in a much more efficient manner. we know from ohio that honda, the largest auto industry -- manufacturer, is a non-union shop. so the reality is that there has been as much done by governor kesik in creating a friendly tax environment, friendly investment environment, cut regulations that has helped to make businesses grow and employment drop -- unemployment drop in ohio. so look, there's going to be an arm wrestling contest over who should claim credit. i think that this is going to mean that other issues will keep into the equation. and i think the president hags made a fundamental mistake in taking on the catholic church and religious liberty across a lot of faith groups in the state. >> now governor strickland, you know what it's like to go down to defeat in ohio. it of course happened to you in 2010 with john kasich. what kinds of messages and lessons do you think the obama campaign needs in order to win in the buckeye state? >> well, i think people trust president barack obama. i don't think they trust mitt romney. i mean, this is a guy who had a swiss bank
